Yesterday, I have been requested by many people to provide some light on the average cost of living in Canada.
Well it actually matters in which province would you stay. I stay in Ottawa and so, I have ample knowledge of this place. On an average, $1500-$2500 is sufficient for the survival of a family of two members. Today, I shall be writing some websites which will give an idea to new comers about what's an average living cost in Canada.
1. Renting
I am listing following sites which will allow you to know about how much is renting a apartment or house in a particular province.

These websites will give you an fair idea about how much is average renting in Canada.
2. Food
You can visit websites of many stores such as

www.farmboy.ca
www.foodbasics.ca
and many more. Each store has flyers having discounts and promotions every week. This will give you a fair idea on how much is required for food and grocery.
For Indians, there are many Indian stores and on average it shall take around $50. Flour (Atta) costs around $8-$15 for 10lbs (5kgs), forexample, Pillusbury costs around $7 for 10lbs (5 kg), Basmati Rice varies between $8 - $10, cereals cost around $3-$4 for either 1 kg or 2 kgs (basically depends) and also depends on province as well, but it shall be not more than $50-$60.
3. Furniture
You can visits these sites and analyze if you purchase new furniture for your home (as here, unlike Europe, we are given completely unfurnished homes)
